Why Prison Ministry?
The obvious answer is the hope of seeing
men/women come to Christ. But there are other, less obvious reasons (which perhaps are more
important):
-
Sharpen/practice your evangelism
skills. (Practice evangelism)
-
Be obedient to Christ.
-
Be a witness in your community. (Bill)
-
Strengthen the church in the
prison (Johnny)
-
Be encouraged by seeing God
working.
-
Be encouraged to see what God has
done in some inmates lives. (Harold)
-
Be about God's work with other
Christians. (Ron, Leonard, Dale)
Sometimes its exciting and uplifting.
Sometimes it frustrating.
I'm convinced that in both cases,
God is working on me.
My prison ministry mentor is Ron Kidwell. Ron got me into prison ministry and keeps spurring me on.
