Gelcoat Repairs

I struggled all winter trying to decide what to do with the cracks in the floor of the cockpit. Finally I asked Ed Ramsey about it and he brought over his moisture meter and I discoved there was no dampness there, and finally decided to just cover the cracks. I was ready to mix up some epoxy when I saw some white touch up paint laying on my workbench and decide rather spur of the moment to use that.

It actually didn't come out too bad.

The next project is to actually use a gelcoat repair kit and repair the cracks on the cabin top. Maybe there's how some moisture got into the cabin top next to the campanionway cover.

On Saturday I used the new gelcoat kit to gelcoat the cracks in the deck and two spots on the gunwale with the little bit of left over material. I'm not too happy with how it worked out, although I think it will keep water from getting in. The camera batteries went dead. Pics to come.
