I met Harold at Lake Erie Correctional Institute. I was talking with a fellow who was praising Jesus - clearly a Christian. Then this older black gentleman walked up and the fellow I'd been talking with said, "This is my spiritual mentor. He's the most Godly and spiritual man I've ever met." I introduced myself to Harold and the other fellow soon walked away as Harold and I began talking.

I was impressed with Harold's talk. Practically every other sentence was a quotation from scripture. Scripture seemed to just flow from him. Now I've been around prisoners enough to know that they have plenty of time to read and study and some of them know scripture really well, but they don't necessarily let it impact their life, so I was still skeptical about Harold's spiritual maturity. But as I kept talking with him and he talked about what he thought and what he was telling other younger inmates, I became convinced he is the real deal.

Later at lunch, Harold came and sat with me and I got to know him even better. He is a very solid Christian man and I was blessed to get to know him.
