Ohio National Guard, Camp Pershing, TX, 1916
The Ohio National Guard served with Pershing in 1916/17 on the border of Mexico. This was generally known as the Pancho
Villa Expedition. It was officially the Mexican Expedition.
We have here some photos from the engagement. This is an imporant element in the history of the ONG as it was some small preparation for the service in WW1.
In fact, its quite likely that due to Roy Bailey's service in this action, he was made a Sargent when the ONG staffed up for WW1.
Note that we have these images available in much higher resolution. If you have a need for such, please e-mail us.
Some miscelaneous shots from the same period we believe

| Very early armor. |
A camp scene. Not sure where, but it does look to be in arid surroundings. |
Not sure of the significance of this photo, but it appears to be of a Mexican local. |
Some might think this is a craps game. More likely a map discussion, since its clearly an officer leading the discussion and his hand is spread out as if he's describing the situation, not throwing dice. |
